“Busy Days, Big Needs, and a Fall Fundraiser Ahead”

Well, the dust is finally starting to settle from all the racing around we’ve been doing here. We’ve been busy delivering human and animal foods to our seniors, veterans, and their companion animals. We’ve also been unloading trucks, stocking shelves, and putting care packages together. The heat has definitely added another layer to our daily deliveries and pickups.

Now that summer is winding down and fall is just around the corner, it’s time to start thinking about getting our Hope for the Holidays tags out. We want to make sure all of our families, seniors, veterans, survivors of domestic violence, displaced homemakers, and companion animals are virtually adopted for Christmas.

To kick off our Hope for the Holidays program, we’re continuing our tradition of holding a fundraiser — and this year, we’re heading back to Butler, Missouri, to participate in their Fall City Wide Garage Sale Event.

We’re excited to return because during last year’s spring city‑wide event, our organization was met with open arms, friendly smiles, and an incredible amount of support. That kind of encouragement means the world to our small group.

While we’ll have plenty of brand‑new and gently‑used items available at our sale, we’ll also have our donation jar front and center. We’re hoping folks will want to help us keep our projects and programs moving full steam ahead.

And we truly need that help. After finishing our mid‑August deliveries, we made a startling discovery — our animal food pantry is almost empty. We have enough cat food and cat litter to get our families through the end of August, but not beyond. We came close to shutting down our animal pantry once before, and we cannot let that happen again.

Please come out and show your support at this event. In the meantime, we are gratefully accepting financial gifts or donations of cat food and cat litter so we can continue caring for our families’ elderly companion animals.

If you’d like to schedule a donation drop‑off time, please email us at whiskersandtails2@gmail.com.

Shirley had no money for the vet when

her cat got sick. The vet told her to just put

the cat down if she couldn't afford to pay

for his care.

MowZer was the only family she had. She

would have been devastated and

we all know what an emotional toll that is

for an elderly woman.

Shirley would have gone into a deep

depression if she would have lost MowZer.

We came in and paid the vet bill with

donations that came from you. MowZer is

still here five years later. Shirley is doing

well and she is very happy that her

little one is still with her.
