August 17th is National Nonprofit Day and we are spreading the word about ours

Whiskers and Tails is a very small all - volunteer nonprofit organization. Our organization helps low-income families and individuals keep their companion animals at home where they belong by providing financial assistance with vetting, prescription foods, medicines and animal care supplies as well as essential items for the families of companion animals.

We serve seniors, veterans, displaced homemakers, survivors of domestic violence and entire families in the five counties that surround our office which is located in Peculiar.

With that being said, we would like to say this - For over 25 years, Whiskers and Tails has been a lifeline for families and their beloved companion animals. We’ve faced challenges that would have closed many small organizations, but our dedication and love for those we serve have kept us going. This year, 2024, has been especially tough, but we remain steadfast in our mission.

Our Goal: $10,000 by Year-End

With only three and a half months left in the year, we are reaching out with hope and urgency. We need to raise $10,000 to continue providing vital care and support. These funds will cover vetting costs and ongoing care for companion animals, as well as essential human foods and care items. Your donations will help us:

• Provide prescription foods for companion animals who need special diets

• Purchase medicines and parasite control to keep pets healthy

• Supply diabetic and grooming essentials for our furry friends

• Ensure sick or senior cats receive the special dietary foods they need

• Stock enough human food and vital supplies to support our families through the long, cold winter months

Why We Need Your Help

In mid-2024, we faced the heartbreaking decision to shut down our human and animal food pantries. Too many people and animals depend on us for food, essential items, and financial assistance for vetting their animals. We cannot let this happen again. We urgently need donors, grantors, sponsors, and recurring donations to keep our doors open and our mission alive.
